Nuclear Medicine

Utilisation of modern developments

Nuclear Medicine

Quantum Radiology is at the forefront of utilisation of modern developments in Nuclear Medicine, with the state-of-the-art GE Discovery NM/CT 670 SPECT/CT imaging technology installed in our practice. The GE Discovery NM/CT 670 SPECT/CT provides enhanced imaging results whilst maintaining an ultra low dose.

What is Nuclear Medicine?

Nuclear Medicine uses very small amounts of radioactive isotopes, usually attached to a radiopharmaceutical to allow images to be taken of various organs in the body. At Quantum Radiology our GE Discovery NM/CT 670 SPECT/CT has ASiR Technology which allows increased image quality while reducing the dose required.

Is there any Preparation Involved?

At Quantum Radiology our Nuclear Medicine camera provides a broad selection of Nuclear Medicine Imaging protocols. Our technical staff are happy to discuss with you the specific procedure requested by your doctor and any preparation necessary.

Your Safety

Nuclear Medicine is extremely safe because the radioactive isotopes used are quickly eliminated from the body through its natural functions. At Quantum Radiology the radiation dose necessary for a scan is always kept to a minimum whilst still providing quality images.

If you are pregnant or suspect that you may be, please advise our staff before the test is performed, as special precautions may have to be taken.
